An immersive experience that stays with you for a year!

  • Remember When Getting Mail Was Fun?

We loved getting mail when we were kids. Nowadays, it’s always bills and junk mail that are in the mailbox. And some young people never even received a real letter in their lifetime. With Tin Box Letters we want to change that!Every two weeks, receive a letter and get immersed in a beautifully illustrated story. Each envelope is packed with letters, postcards, newspaper clippings, puzzles, and other exciting items. Experience the story told by its characters in letters and diary entries.

  • Original and historically accurate.

Enjoy a heart-pounding romantic adventure set in real history. Our stories are works of fiction; however, they are based on extensive research and written by history-loving writers.

    More than just reading.

Our letters offer a variety of activities and puzzles from the time period. Solving puzzles is not necessary for the progression of the story. It’s a bonus that provides more entertainment as you wait for the next letter to arrive. Decode a cryptic message; follow a cooking recipe from another time; or solve a puzzle from a two-centuries-old newspaper.

For you... or for somebody else.

A subscription to Tin Box Letters makes a perfect gift. Give it to someone you love - and let them enjoy this unique experience.

Who is Tin Box Collector?

The world of Tin Box Letters is curated by Norman Blackwell, the tin box collector. He found the first tin box of letters at one of the garage sales on the outskirts of Milwaukee. The letters were from a young journalist Elizabeth Byrd and Tom Hawk, describing their adventures in Klondike in 1897. He loved their story so much, he decided to share it with the world.

Finch and Hawk: The Klondike Letters

Elizabeth Byrd, was a daredevil journalist sent on an assignment to cover the Klondike. Tom Hawk, an adventurous prospector, like thousands of people, was swept up by the idea of great riches. The harsh wilderness was not the only obstacle young adventurers had to face. Peek inside their lives, follow the mystery, search for treasure, face treachery and deceit, find friendship and love. Experience their story.
